About

What Tunder is and what it does for you.

Tunder is a front end for options on Derive, built for people who do not trade options for a living. You pick a view on an asset, the app shows you the position that expresses it, what it costs and what it pays at expiry, and sends it to Derive when you confirm.

Tunder is the screen in the middle. Your deposit goes from your wallet straight to your own Derive account, and orders are matched on Derive.

What it does

  • Reads live prices, order books and trades from Derive.
  • Draws the price chart and the payoff of your position before you commit to it.
  • Builds single options and multi-leg strategies from named presets or by hand.
  • Sends your order to Derive and shows the result on your profile.
  • Shows what other traders are executing on Derive in the Trending tab.

Reading a payoff chart

Every position is drawn as a payoff: what it is worth at expiry, for each price the asset could end at. Here is the simplest one, a bought call, which is a bet that the price goes up.

Buying a call$0StrikeBreakevenMost you lose: the premiumProfit keeps growingPrice at expiry →
Premium
What you pay for the option up front. It is the most a bought option can lose.
Strike
The price the option is written at. A call is worth nothing at expiry below it.
Breakeven
The strike plus the premium. Above it, the position is in profit.
Below the strike the call expires worthless and you lose what you paid for it, the premium. Above the breakeven every extra dollar the price rises is profit.

What it does not do

  • It never holds your money. Your funds sit in your own Derive account.
  • It never asks your wallet to send anything except your own deposit into your own account.
  • It never shows a number the venue did not publish. A missing figure prints as a dash.
